The 210-acre course in Roslyn Harbor, New York was designed by English architect and golf professional Herbert Strong. The course was remodeled in 1921 by world-renowned golf course architect Devereux Emmet and later by Frank Duane. The original architect followed the layouts of some of the most challenging holes in Scotland. Publications from the early days of the club described it as “a bag of tricks,” but the course was soon recognized as one of the finest in the country.
